AI Elixir - Let's Wrap It Up!
Welcome to the final edition of AI Elixir for 2024. I had a great time launching the newsletter this year and I’m really excited for what 2025 will bring in the world of GenAI. It hasn’t been boring so far and I don’t expect it to slow down anytime soon.
Happy Holidays! See you in January.
What Just Happened?

MidJourney Prompt: A person confused by AI
Ethan Mollick, author of Co-Intelligence: Living and Working with AI and the highly recommended One Useful Thing newsletter just posted an overview of all the amazing things that happened in the GenAI world in DECEMBER ALONE! Please give it a read.
In short, there have been ground-breaking advancements in a number of areas across the GenAI spectrum that really establish the fact that this technology is becoming part of our everyday life. There’s no going back.
WHY IT MATTERS
I’ll let Ethan sum it up:
“For better and for worse, we are far from seeing the end of AI advancement. What's remarkable isn't just the individual breakthroughs - AIs checking math papers, generating nearly cinema-quality video clips, or running on gaming PCs. It's the pace and breadth of change. A year ago, GPT-4 felt like a glimpse of the future. Now it's basically running on phones, while new models are catching errors that slip past academic peer review. This isn't steady progress - we're watching AI take uneven leaps past our ability to easily gauge its implications. And this suggests that the opportunity to shape how these technologies transform your field exists now, when the situation is fluid, and not after the transformation is complete.”
AI Apps Unwrapped
The venture capital firm, Andreessen Horowitz just published a collection of their favorite AI apps of 2024. There are some fun picks under (and on) their tree. Click around a bit to discover products you might not be familiar with. One of my favorites is Flow a new AI powered voice dictation app that has become part of my everyday toolkit.
Fact of the Week
During a game week, the NFL uses AI to capture and process 6.8M video frames and 100M player locations and positions on the field, and during practice, it processes 15,000 miles of player data. This translates to more than 500M data points which it uses to establish which players are at the highest risk of injury and develop personalized injury prevention courses for them.
Calling ChatGPT…
In the continuing effort to make ChatGPT available to the widest number of users, you can now interact with the service via a simple phone call, even from a landline!
You can now talk to ChatGPT by calling 1-800-ChatGPT (1-800-242-8478) in the U.S. or by sending a WhatsApp message to the same number—available everywhere ChatGPT is.

WHY IT MATTERS
As mentioned above, GenAI is starting to atomize. Breaking free from the specialized apps that contained it and finding its way into our everyday life. ChatGPT and Gemini seem to be the leaders in this GenAI jailbreak for the time being.
A Prompt Library Starter Kit
And finally, here’s an excellent collection of prompts for B2B lead generation marketers but frankly, they apply to all forms of marketing. Persona development, SEO, social media ad audits…there is a lot to chew on here and a lot to learn by studying the prompt structure. Homework over the holiday break? Well, I’m not gonna officially assign any but, if you wanted extra credit this would be a great place to start.
Thanks! See you in January!
